Can you still get The Epicurean in Destiny 2? Answered

The Epicurea caused a sensation in Destiny 2 when it was first released in 2019, as part of the Season of Opulence. With an incredibly fast charge rate for fusion rifles, aided by the Backup Plan advantage, Epicurea has become the go-to Crucible match to wipe out enemy teams.

As every day ends with Bungie, so too does the epicurean with the sunset plan (now abandoned). With the arrival of The Witch Queen scheduled for late February, however, and Bungie celebrating its 30th anniversary within Destiny 2, some weapons have come from the past to the present, such as the 1000-Yard Stare and the Gjallarhorn.

The Epicurean, at the moment, has not been officially announced or shown in the 30th anniversary fanfare, nor in the teasers of the upcoming expansion, The Witch Queen. Rumors abound about the return of the much-loved PvP shotgun, but none come from Bungie. At this time, the epicurean is nowhere to be found.

Just like the Guardians, however, "down" does not mean "out". The ongoing 30th anniversary event, called Moments of Triumph, is expected to end on February 22 with the arrival of The Witch Queen expansion. The event has so far been filled with loot and more than a few weapons have been returned.

Xur is always a possibility with its weekly inventory and it is possible that we see a short window where Epicurean is available. Other than that, it's not impossible for the crowd-favorite weapon to make its final comeback with more fanfare - it just isn't ready to do so yet.
