Contact Destiny 2 Public Events Guide: How to Play, How to Make Heroic

Public Contact Event has been added to Destiny 2 with the Arrivals Season. The new event is currently available on Io, although we have reason to suspect it may show up on Titan in the future. You can see the location of the event marked on the map below, all you have to do is spawn at Lost Oasis on Io, and it's right in front of you.

This event is very similar to Gambit, although it gets a lot more hectic towards the end. It starts at a Power level of 990, so expect to get punched a bit if you're below it. The good news is that the event is very busy right now, with a lot of players, so there will be a lot of people who can help.

When it reaches the last round, the Power level is up to 1040, so be prepared to really fight for your life if you are under 990.

The peer is based on the rough version of Gambit. Enemies will appear, and you will have to kill them and collect the Dark Motes they drop, then place them in the bank in the center of the arena. Holding more movements results in a higher percentage each time you deposit them. This increases the risk that if you die you will lose moves, so be sure to deposit them at a speed you feel comfortable with.

You have to fill the bank and bring it to 100 percent, four times in the course of the event. While you're trying to do this, a countdown is counting down, so you need to be quick. From time to time, blockers spawn and you will need to eliminate them to access the bank again.

You should also keep an eye on the energy lines that go from the large structure above the bank to a random area near the event. These will lead you to a platform with champions of Barrier, Unstoppable, or Overload, and you'll need to take them out to reach the Bloom, the orb that floats in the center of the platform. They can grab it and run with it, so you need to make sure you kill them as quickly as possible.

When they're dead, take the Bloom to the bank for a ten percent jump going. You also need to watch out for enemies who get too close to the bank or else they steal Blooms and report your progress by ten percent.

When you get to the last part, you need to fill it 100 percent, then get rid of the random Blights that will spawn. When you kill all the Blights, the final boss will spawn and you will have to take them out before the timer runs out. You also need to be aware that more damage can be done, granting the boss immunity to damage, and you will have to take them out again to damage him.

The event ends when you either kill the boss or fail him by letting the timer run down while he is still alive. One important point, the event automatically switches to Heroics for the last round, there is no mechanical set you need to do to make it happen, so good luck.
