Genshin Impact: All geographic characters ranked

The characters of Genshin Impact are all divided into a certain element and each character has a different degree of usefulness. It's great to have characters from different elements to diversify your teams and elemental reactions, so it's important to know which characters from each element are worth shooting for.

The Geo element in Genshin Impact is a unique element, which does not combine completely well with the others. This is because Geo has only one elementary reaction: crystallize. When you activate this reaction, a shard corresponding to the element you infused with will drop. For example, Geo + Pyro will drop a Pyro shard, while Geo + Hydro will drop a Hydro shard. Collecting these fragments will drop a shield that blocks damage from that respective element.

In this sense, the Geo element tends to be very supportive. There aren't many Geo characters in the game right now, and the ones Genshin has are mostly support or sub-DPS characters. However, Geo is by no means a bad thing, especially if you can pair two of them together.

Here are all the Genshin Impact Geo characters ranked, in order from least useful to greatest impact.

Traveler

The Geo Traveler isn't actually a terrible support unit. She can deal a lot of damage with her Elemental Skill and Burst, and she also has some support capabilities (her Burst will provide Crit Rate). It is also a good way to charge Elemental Bursts for other Geo characters, due to the strong generation of Geo particles.

The Traveler tends to be underestimated, but there are still better options for your team if you need a Geo character. However, his damage shouldn't be underestimated and he can adapt to your team if you build them correctly.

Noelle

Noelle can be a strong main DPS, but she is quite expensive to build. Her Constellation 6 converts half of her DEF to ATK, causing her to deal a lot of high-investment damage. As a result, if Constellation 6 were her basic form, Noelle would likely be higher on this list. She is also very tanky, with a combo of shields and heals from her kit.

Unfortunately, much of its usability is wrapped up behind a high constellation. Anything below that, and Noelle is a poor squire and healer. Her potential is strong, but it might cost you a little.

ningguang

Ningguang is a strong main DPS or sub-DPS that plays well with other Geo units. However, as a four-star DPS, its damage doesn't rival many of the main five-star DPS characters out there.

It has some flexibility as a Geo battery, capable of charging other Geo bursts well. Thanks to her flexibility, she is a little stronger than Noelle in most cases, as you don't need high constellations to perform well with Ningguang.

albedo

Albedo is a niche unit, but he's a strong sub-DPS character for teams that suit him. Albedo combines particularly well with Geo characters such as Zhongli and Ningguang.

It has a small niche in reaction teams, as it can increase Elemental Mastery for the team. If not, it's actually probably best to trade Albedo into a reaction team. Albedo can also be strong in teams that don't rely on reaction, like a Xiao team.

Zhongli

Zhongli is the undisputed best Geo character in the game, providing a huge safety net for all of your teams. His shield is unmatched, blocks extremely high amounts of damage and in some cases even negates the need for a healer. His crowd control with his Elemental Burst is a nice bonus.

However, there are some teams you wouldn't want to bring Zhongli to. A freezing team, for example, wouldn't appreciate a Zhongli. Otherwise, Zhongli is a very stable unit that can fit almost anywhere.
