Genshin Impact: Rust - How to get it, stats and materials for ascension

Rust is a 4-star Bow weapon in Genshin Impact that allows Bow characters to play in a unique way. While most Bow characters want to use a mix of charged attacks and abilities, such as Ganyu or Kujou Sara, Rust enhances a Bow character's normal attacks.

There are some Bow characters with powerful normal attacks, which makes Rust a great fit for some Bow characters in the game. That said, it's a pretty niche weapon if you don't have the necessary fonts to use. Read on to find out which Rust characters suit best.

Rust is a 4-star Gacha weapon and can therefore be summoned from the standard banner, featured banner, or limited weapons banner. Rust is often present on the limited weapons banner, so check often to see if the rust has a speed boost.

Is rust good?

Rust is a 4-star niche weapon that is not recommended for most of Bow's characters. This is because the passive of the weapon reduces the damage of your charged attacks. Most Bow characters do not benefit or are negatively impacted by the weapon's passive.

However, Rust fits in well with some Bow characters in the game. Tartaglia can use rust since his elemental ability is based on the damage of the normal attack. (She has better options though, like Viridescent Hunt or Blackcliff Warbow.) If you happen to have a physical Fischl DPS, you can also use Rust with her.

The character Rust will appreciate the most, however, is Yoimiya. Her elemental ability infuses her normal attacks with Pyro damage. Coupled with rust, you can rack up tons of damage simply by using your elemental ability and normal attacks.
