How to get half truths and best God Rolls in Destiny 2

The 30th Anniversary Pack for Destiny 2 brings a bit of Bungie's history to the developer's popular MMO / FPS hybrid. Half-truths are one of the weapons added to Xur's new interdimensional loot weapon arsenal, and Halo fans may find its bright blue border familiar.

Half-Truths is an Adaptive Frame sword, sharing the archetype with its counterpart The Other Half and older swords like Steel Sybil Z-14 and Negative Space. Fans can get it from the chest next to Xur in the Treasure of Eternity or as a reward from Xur's strange engrams.

The best advantages for half-truths

  • Smooth edge / Jagged edge
  • Heavy Guard / Enduring Guard / Burst Guard
  • Duelist's Trance / Relentless Blows
  • Eager Edge / In guardia

Half-Truths shares a number of advantages with the negative space sword in the drop pool of the world, especially on the edge and guard side. Honed Edge is a pure damage boost, while Jagged Edge makes the sword even more effective at the cost of some swing ammo.

Things get more interesting as we move on to the main advantages of the sword. Duelist's new Trance perk brings increased charge speed, efficiency and defense to the weapon until you put it away, encouraging players to keep the sword out for an extended period of time to take down enemies. Standby perk Relentless Strikes is a good alternative if yours doesn't fall with this, instead conceding some ammo back after landing a three-hit combo on a large foe or large group.

Eager Edge is the main perk that fans will want to look for in the half-truths. Added in the 30th Anniversary Pack update, the perk adds additional lunge distance to the sword for a short time immediately after switching to it. In addition to the combat utility, this advantage legitimizes a classic Destiny tradition: sword skating. By switching to the weapon in mid-air and swinging rapidly during a jump, players can use the sword to keep themselves afloat, much like the classic technique used unofficially on swords like the Worldline Zero. Instead of working best only for Titans, this time around, all Guardians can take advantage of it.

En Garde may not be as flashy perk as Eager Edge, but it provides a good alternative if the Guardians can't get their hands on Half Truths with the perk. Quick Sword Attacks deal additional damage with the perk, making it tougher in less time.
