How to switch from Evernight to Winternight in Genshin Impact

Genshin Impact added a huge new area in version 2.4, known as Enkanomiya. This underwater mystery works differently than the world up there, and this includes the day and night system. The sun and moon do not rise and fall as they do on the surface and instead are dictated by a system known as Evernight and Winternight.

While exploring Teyvat, you have probably experienced the day and night system there. Time works regularly there. As a certain amount of time passes through the game, the day will lighten or the sky will darken as night arrives. You can even adjust the time in the Paimon menu to quickly jump to different times of the day.

However, that's not how it works in Enkanomiya. Time is a different beast here. The Evernight and Winternight system allows you to switch between different "time zones" in Enkanomiya, for a matter of words. This is necessary as the environment, enemies and puzzles can change at different times of the day.

To change the time, you will first have to complete the first part of the world mission: The Underground Trials of Drake and Serpent. Once done, you will unlock a new landmark in Enkanomiya, the Dainichi Mikoshi.

The device pictured above allows you to change the time of day in an instant. By interacting with the device, you will switch from Evernight to Winternight, or vice versa, depending on which state Enkanomiya is in.

However, this isn't the only place you can trade the time of day. Seals with a colored cube inside them, like the one pictured below, will remotely control the Dainichi Mikoshi and change the time of day. They work as if you interact with the device and are required to activate the puzzles.

There are a certain amount of puzzles that change depending on the time of day. For example, you might come across Daises of Day and Night. These appear only when Enkanomiya is exchanged for the "night" hour.

Shields can also disperse depending on the time of day.

Essence places of worship also grant bestowal powers to the user, depending on the time of day.

Manipulating the Evernight and Winternight system in Enkanomiya is essential to explore the new mystery area well. Experiment a little and experience Enkanomiya to the fullest.
