Pokemon Unite: when will the new Pokemon come out and what's coming?

Pokémon United will inevitably see the new version of Pokemon as DLC on the way, with the game's already substantial enough roster set only to receive more characters as it grows. We know what new Pokemon will be added to the game, so when will they be released?

When are the new Pokemon coming out in Unite?

The new Pokemon Unite Blastoise and Gardevoir additions are confirmed to be added in the near future, with the water and grass type being joined by a third mysterious Pokemon as well. They are likely to be added sooner or later, potentially after August 3, 2021, when its 14 days of welcome gifts end.

The new Pokemon Unite characters were revealed ahead of the game's launch, with the game's official Twitter account noting that while they weren't "ready for battle," the trio would be "coming soon".

Blastoise, Gardevoir, and other Pokémon are also looking forward to joining you on the Isle of Aeos!

Blastoise is a breeze considering both the original starter Pokémon Pokemon Charizard and Venasaur are already in the game, with Gardevoir being another fan favorite. Blastoise will be a defensive character while Gardevoir is an attacker: as the game currently suffers from a lack of players choosing defensive types, the addition of Blastoise could help incentivize those who mostly want to play damage-dealing Pokemon.

The third mysterious Pokemon is not confirmed, although the official Unite Twitter has invited players to stay tuned to his social account to find out what this addition will be. Unite has a diverse roster of iconic and lesser-known Pokemon, with Pikachu sitting alongside characters like Cramorant. Co-developers TiMi Studio Group and The Pokemon Company have focused on Pokemon that work well in the MOBA setting rather than specifically including the most well-known characters, so the Mystery Pokemon could really be anyone from the series catalog.
