Should you roll on Childe's Snezhnaya farewell banner in Genshin Impact?

Farewell of Snezhnaya Banner will be replicated in Genshin Impact for the second time, with Childe as the main character. The eleventh of the eleven Fatui Harbingers is a fairly popular character with fans due to his quirky personality and robust gameplay. However, should you summon on its banner with so many new characters added to the game since its original release?

Childe is a user of the Hyrdo element and wields a bow. He is a 5-star character and therefore has a better chance of appearing in his dedicated banner than him. Childe excels at dealing burst damage and allowing teammates to use elemental reactions by quickly applying Hydro to targets. Additionally, he can take down multiple targets at once, making him ideal for dealing area damage. Overall, Childe is a perfect enabler who fits well into the role of secondary damage trafficker.

With all the positives aside, Childe has come out of the meta lately. He is no longer a Hydro user for many players, especially since he is a 5-star and difficult to acquire character. Xingqiu, who is a 4-star character, is better than Childe at preparing teammates for elemental reactions. Additionally, Xingqiu is a more versatile character than Childe.

The other characters that can be summoned on the banner are Ningguang (Geo), Chongyun (Cyro) and Yanfei (Pyro). Ningguang is probably the strongest character available in the banner as he can deal an insane amount of damage relatively quickly. He can act as the main DPS character but needs his Constellation unlocked to be fully effective.

On the other hand, Chongyun and Yanfei are mediocre at best. Chongyun was many players' favorite Cyro character, but he's been out of the meta ever since. He can still adapt to Cyro-based team compositions, but there are better characters that provide the same functionality. Yanfei is a Pyro user, which is probably the element with most of the characters high. She is simply outclassed by characters like Thoma and Hu Tao.

Overall, it's best to skip the banner and save Primogems for future ones. That said, Childe and Ningguang are decent characters and anyone looking for them specifically can pull up the banner.
