If you have played Star Wars Battlefront, forget the progression system, which is totally different in the sequel, linked to the phantom Star Cards, a new method adopted by DICE to allow players to upgrade the various classes.

The level of the player compared to the Star Cards, is separate, which means that the first represents the general level, the second instead that of the classes. Each class has its own level and is increased in game, through crafting or by upgrading Star Cards.

Cards can be unlocked by crafting with the materials obtained. Based on the Star Level obtained, it is possible to increase that of each class by upgrading the Star Cards. There are 4 different ranks for each Star Card, up to level 10 you can only unlock the first rank for each class.

Reached this level, you will have the opportunity to move to the next rank and so on, until you get them all at level 20. By upgrading the Star Cards you will also increase the Star Level.

By completing the challenges and leveling up, you will get chests where the Creation parts are inside. Each class can be equipped with a maximum of 3 Star Cards and only after reaching level 10.

Now you may be wondering, but what are these cards for? Simple, they allow you to get extra skills or boosts such as a faster health regeneration and less waiting time for recharging.  

Bottom line, if you happen to run into an enemy with better Star Cards, you are in trouble. If you want to get new weapons for a character, you will always have to use the same one in the game. The weapons can be unlocked by completing the proposed challenges, of course, in addition to the weapons, you can also get upgrades.
