The best Hunter builds for PvP and PvE in Destiny 2

We love rolling around on the ground as much as the next Guardian. So much so that we're here to bring you the best Hunter builds for PvP and PvE in Destiny 2. Please note that all of these Hunter builds prefer 100 Recovery and 100 Mobility. Subsequent statistic breakdowns are personal preferences. If you are swinging a light frame weapon, you can perform 80 Mobility thanks to the invisible +20 Mobility they offer.

Casual PvP

  • Subclass - The way of the outlaw (gunslinger of the best trees)
  • Exotic Armor - Young Ahamkara's spine
  • Weapons: Anything with Demolitionist or Adrenaline Junkie

We tested this build in all PvP modes and you can get 4 mine trips in one Trials of Osiris round. If you want to rack up lots of free kills, use it in 6v6 control. The only mods we suggest in the armor are the Bomber mods in the class item and the Grenade Kickstart mods in your gloves. With Adrenaline Junkie and / or Demolitionist, you always get enhanced weapon damage or reduced grenade cooldowns. In non-respawn modes, this is invaluable as you'll have most of your kit ready for each round. Give yourself some time to get used to this build, the auto reload you get from Demolitionist has caught us off guard a few times.

Final report: You can leave triplet mines on surfaces with an explosive knife. They will detonate each other and shoot anyone in the blast radius.

Final PvP

  • Subclass - Via della Corrente (Arcstrider Central Tree) or Revenant
  • Exotic armor - St0mp-EE5
  • Weapons: Hand Cannon and Shotgun

Way of the Current and Revenant offer the most value in small team playlists like Survival and Elimination. You can finish rounds quickly, in style, and St0mp-EE5 is the strongest piece of exotic PvP armor in the entire game. Master your shots and clean up with both weapons as you jump off the roof from match to match. Both subclasses offer the strongest neutral game of all Hunter subclasses and some of the best super in Destiny 2.

Casual Casual PvE

  • Subclass - The way of a thousand cuts (half tree gunslinger)
  • Exotic Armor - Assassin's Hood
  • Weapons - Blinding Grenade Launcher and upgraded weapons with the Season Pass

You can pretty much do whatever you want in casual environments when it comes to PvE. Knife Trick keeps you invisible and your grenade launcher blinds anything that isn't already burning. Abuse the weapons powered by each seasonal artifact (think Particle Descontrsuction or Breach and Clear) and head off to the races. If you are doing Battlegrounds or anything that is dense with enemies, you are essentially invisible forever. Rat King with a grenade launcher is an amazing alternative as are Swashbuckler weapons.

PvE final

  • Subclass - Via del Pathfinder (Bottom-Tree Nightstalker)
  • Exotic Armor - Omnioculus / Graviton Forfeit
  • Weapons - Any

Grandmaster (GM) Nightfall Ordeals are some of the most challenging endgame content in Destiny 2 PvE. Enemies of rank and rank are lethal if not handled properly, but they cannot shoot at what they cannot see. We love doing big damage, and this build focuses most of your damage on your grenades and guns. Activate invisibility out of cooldown with Vanishing into Smoke and trivialize difficult shots. Choose the appropriate weapons and modifications. Graviton Forfeit is a weaker alternative for those without a bib.
