How to download the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare data pack

On April 28, console players of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will have to download a sizable data pack. A download is required to play, so you will not be able to join the servers until the download is complete.

The download is 15GB, so make sure you give yourself plenty of time to download, depending on your internet connection. It's also a bit awkward, because a patch will arrive the same day, and you'll need to download the patch before you can download the data pack.

The patch should automatically download when it becomes available for your console, so you don't have to worry about that at all. When the patch is complete, you can start the game and select any mode to play. You will be taken to an installation menu and asked to download a data package.

Select a data package from the menu and the download will begin. Once the download is complete, you will need to close the game, then restart it and you will be able to play normally.

As for exactly what the patch and data package covers, Infinity Ward has given us a few small details on various fixes that are coming to the game, but we'll have to wait until they release patch notes to get the full details.

• Fixed a bug where the USEF 1 skin selection for the Mil-Sim operator appears as the default skin in Co-op
• Adjusted the speed and size of the circle in Warzone
• Fixed a bug where completing the completist challenges for the SKS were unlocking the associated camos for the Renetti
• Fixed an issue where camouflage unlocking for SKS was incompatible with other camouflage challenges for Marksman Rifles
• Fixed an issue where the "Hard Wired" skin for Alex would appear in thermal mode while Cold Blooded was equipped
• Fixed an issue where some clocks would appear in the wrong direction when gesturing
• Fixed an issue where players could lose the option to choose their favorite faction in the Operator menu
• Fixed an issue where white lighting could be seen when moving or throwing a weapon near specific locations
