The new Pokemon Trading Card Game Live will arrive soon and completely replace the old Pokemon TCG Online, which apparently will be shut down just before the new app is released. However, before the new version becomes available there will be a testing period where a beta will be available, so when players can expect to see the start of the Pokemon TCG Live soft launch and how they can access the Pokemon TCG Live beta ?

What is the start date of the Pokemon TCG Live beta?

The Pokemon TCG Live beta or phased launch on PC, Mac, iOS and Android will launch "later this year", so over the next three months.

A more precise start date for the beta has not yet been released, although The Pokemon Company confirms that Pokemon TCG Online will be available to play and will not close until the beta test is complete.

Any cards available or attached to players' Pokemon TCG Online accounts will automatically be moved to Pokemon TCG Live as long as they log into Live with the same account details, so players don't have to worry about doing anything during the beta period.

How to access the Pokemon TCG Live beta download

All PC and Mac users around the world will be able to access the Pokemon TCG Live beta when it becomes available from the game's website, as The Pokemon Company offers a full global open beta for everyone to try. However, the soft-launch of the Pokemon TCG Live app for iOS and Android will only be available in Canada, despite apparently launching at the same time as the beta.

Pokemon TCG Live appears to be a more exciting experience than online, however the bad news is that it won't be available on the Switch and players cannot trade Pokemon cards with each other.
