Since the launch of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, it has been an oddity for most of the shooter community that Warzone had yet to be launched from Modern Warfare, rather than being in its own application. This can has been a major cause for concern, as those who primarily play Warzone need to download Modern Warfare assets just to access the battle royale. But, with Warzone Pacific switching to the Vanguard engine, one wonders if the game will finally be a standalone download.
Because a handful of streamers were able to log into Warzone Pacific and talk about their experience, content creator Modern Warzone used Twitter to confirm that Warzone Pacific will still require the 2019 shooter launch. Warzone Pacific via the Vanguard main menu, you will still be prompted to download Modern Warfare, although you will not need to purchase the full version to do so.
While it's unclear how much exact space Warzone Pacific will take up on hard drives, expect it to be at least double that of Call of Duty: Vanguard. This is because the launcher requires players to download Modern Warfare specific files, usually adding 20 to 30GB more, in addition to the battle royale.
