Destiny 2 Season of Dawn update and patch notes

Destiny 2 The new Season Pass is Season of Dawn and releases on December 10th. It features a variety of new changes, such as the update to how exotic engrams work, the Eververse shop, new missions, and a new Potent and Pinnacle Cap for Guardians.



The official Season of Dawn patch notes have been removed. Before they did, Bungie stayed open on their This Week at Bungue news updates. Now that we have the official patch notes, the Guardians can take a look at what to expect from the new Season of Dawn update.

COMBAT SYSTEMS

Finishing stations

  • Improved the finisher camera experience when using mouse and keyboard.

Multi-Tool Finisher

  • In your inventory press R3 (if using controller) or Shift key (if using mouse and keyboard) to mark a finisher as "favorite"
  • When activated, a random finisher that you have marked as "favorite" sounds
  • If no finishers are marked "favorite" which would be pretty crazy because we all know you have favorites, your default class finisher plays

ABILITY

titan

  • Sunbreaker Code of Forged Fire (Upper Path)
      • Anger of Vulcan
          • It made Vulcan's anger much angrier
          • Detonation time increased from 0 seconds to 0,5 seconds
          • Greater diffusion of clusters
  • Hammer of Sol
      • Impact damage decreased from 70 to 5
      • Detonation damage increased from 205 to 270
      • NOTE: These changes also affect the lower shaft Sunbreaker
  • Sunbreaker Code of the Devastator (Middle Path)
      • Throwing hammer
          • Impact damage increased from 100 to 120
          • Hammer pickup range increased from 2 meters to 3,5 meters

          • From 20% per stack to 30% per stack in PvE

          • Reduction of super energy costs from 5% to 3%

          • Increased projectile hitbox height to more easily hit airborne opponents

  • Sunbreaker Code of the Siegebreaker (Bottom Path)
      • Mortar Blast
          • Blast radius increased from 5 meters to 6 meters
      • Undefeated Sun
          • The burning targets you kill also make sunspots
          • Killed burning targets now trigger heal
          • Kills with Sun Warrior buff active can now spawn sunspots
              • This is based on the weighted enemy killed and a sunspot is created when the threshold of "1" is reached
              • Players / Bosses add 1
              • The majors add 0,5
              • Minors add 0,25
          • 1 second charge while creating sunspots
      • Sun Warrior
          • Increased Scalar Cooldown Ability by 35%
          • Tweaked FX and audio for allied sunspots
  • Striker Code of the Missile (Middle Path)

  • Gunslinger Way of the Sharpshooter (Bottom Path)
      • Juggler's knife
          • Changed to Weighted Knife
          • Damage changed from 120 to 140
          • Precision modifier changed from 1.3 to 1.5
              • Headshot is a single hit kill in PvP
          • Launch animation updated to be longer to compensate for the ability of a hit
          • The knife bullet moves faster and with fewer falls than in the past
          • The knife bounces once after impacting the environment
      • Practice makes perfect
          • Guaranteed super energy reduced by 16%
          • Increased buff duration by 50%
          • Precision kills now give 2 stacks
      • Crowd pleasure
          • The original perks (precision damage, precision shots with Golden Gun generate Orbs of Light) have been moved to "Alignment"
          • New Perk: Knock 'Em Down
              • Precision kills increase weapon stability and ADS speed
              • The buff duration starts at 10 seconds, and each kill or assist adds time, capped at 25 seconds
              • The added time has a variable weighting on the enemy killed and whether it was a precision kill
              • While the buff timer is over 20 seconds, your Golden Gun deals 30% more damage (determined at cast and lasts the entire super)
              • This burns the buff
              • Does not stack with Celestial Nighthawk
      • line 'em up
          • Now has a passive bonus for aiming assist and range while aiming
          • Precision damage and precision hits with Golden Gun now generate Orbs of Light perks originally included in "Crowd Pleaser"
  • Path of the Path of the Pathfinder (Lower Path)
      • Vanish in smoke
          • Added a short time (0,8 seconds) after applying stealth where firing weapons or performing other actions will not break stealth
          • This should help prevent allies from accidentally breaking invisibility the moment it is granted to them, if unforeseen.

sorcerer



  • Dawn at dawn (all routes)
      • Reduced the speed of Burst Glide activations while in super
  • Dawnblade Attunement of Sky (Upper Path)
      • Quick shot
          • Changed to Celestial Fire
          • Shoot three coiled and homing bullets
          • Approximately 35 damage per bullet
      • Winged Sun
          • It also allows for Celestial Fire activations
          • No longer gives grenade energy for aerial kills
          • Provides more melee energy for aerial kills
      • The heat rises
          • Perk redesigned with new gameplay
          • Consume grenades to get the heat boost buff
          • Drastically reduces the air accuracy penalty
          • Change the mode of movement
          • Reduce Glide maintenance costs by 99%,
          • 99% reduction in Glide activation costs
          • Set the swipe speed and agility to a combination of Strafe and Burst swipe
      • Icarus Dash
          • Now has two dodges for 5 seconds
          • Dodge now has a slight upward speed
          • Super dodge now is a long dodge per second
  • Dawnblade Attunement of Grace (Middle)
      • Guide flame
          • Doubled the range of the upgrade effect from 12 meters to 24 meters
      • Divine protection
          • Increased range at which the healing grenade is applied to friendly targets from 1 to 3,5 meters
      • Benevolent Dawn
          • The buff can now be upgraded if additional friendly targets are healed / boosted while you still have the buff
          • Recovery time removed (can continue continuously)
          • Reduced energy regeneration by 15%
          • This was needed as it is much more consistent, procs thicker and longer
      • Well of splendor
      • Staying in the Well now grants 20% damage reduction against damage from other players
      • The sword item no longer takes precision damage
  • Dawnblde Attunement of Flame (Bottom Path)
      • Phoenix Dive
          • It now heals a fixed amount over time
          • Healing is interruptible by incoming damage
          • While super, super energy returns depending on how well you healed
          • It has diminishing returns the longer the super is active.
  • Voidwalker Attunement of Fission (Middle Path)
      • Portable Supernova
      • Grenade charge time adjusted to align with animations and effects. This is to make activation more consistent.

Statistics values



  • Class skill cooldown is now governed by player stats.
    • Hunter Fencing's cooldown is changed by its Mobility stat
    • Titan Barricade's cooldown is modified by their Resilience stats
    • Warlock Rift's cooldown is changed by their cooldown stats.
  • As a result, Paragon's mods have been deprecated.

WEAPON CHANGES

exotic

  • Divinity
      • Divinity's weakening effect no longer stacks with other weakened effects. The "cage" will still appear in these cases and will act as a precision weak point, but the weakened multipliers will no longer stack.
  • Xenophage
      • PvE damage increased by + 50%
      • Increased PvP ammo from heavy ammo crates to 4/6 (previously 3/4) on shared / unshared crates, respectively
      • Fixed an issue that resulted in this weapon gaining overall ammo when swapping from another upgraded weapon to this weapon
  • The breath of Leviathan
      • Fixed an issue that resulted in this weapon gaining overall ammo when swapping from another upgraded weapon to this weapon
  • Cerberus + 1
      • Fixed an issue where repeatedly pressing the trigger would result in a faster rate of fire while the "Focused Fire" catalyst was enabled
  • Eriana's vote
      • Increasing reserves for this weapon via armor perks no longer increases starting / regeneration ammo in The Crucible
  • Monte Carlo
      • The "Monte Carlo Method" no longer has a 100% chance to trigger on Guardian kills and now matches the fighter's chance

Changes to the archetype

  • Linear Fusion Rifles
      • Accuracy damage increased by + 20%
      • This change does not affect the dormant Simulator
      • Significantly increased target acquisition at close to average distances
  • sidearms
      • Greater target acquisition across the board

Advantage changes

  • Weapons Master
      • Removed the precision damage feature
      • This weapon still provides a damage bonus, but non-precision damage is no longer increased disproportionately
  • the magnificent howling
      • Fixed a bug that caused the perk to apply to two bullets on the net instead of just one
  • Sticky Grenades (grenade launcher)
      • Fixed an issue that allowed players to climb onto grenade launcher bullets

Various changes

  • Fixed "Shield Piercing" / "Anti-Barrier" hits not penetrating Scorn Lurker bucklers
  • Chip damage behavior removed from "Shield Piercing" / "Anti-Barrier" rounds
  • A selection of Year 1 legendary weapons had a facelift and joined the engram reward pool to keep Edge Transit company
  • Reduced size of Arc Logic's muzzle blast while aiming

ARMOR CHANGES

exotic

  • Wings of Sacred Dawn
      • Now grants 15% damage resistance while in hover state
  • One-eye mask
      • No longer grants a shield on killing the marked target
  • Peregrine Greaves
      • No longer disproportionately increases Hammer Strike's damage
      • The damage is ~ 300% of the damage of a normal shoulder charge against a single target
  • Claws of Ahamkara
      • Fixed an issue where both melee stacks could be consumed in a melee hit

Mod armature

  • Removed stacking restrictions on many armor mods
      • Similar mods can now be stacked for better effect. However, stacking mods with similar effects provides diminishing returns, granting fewer relative benefits than two different mods.
      • Reduced the effectiveness of Ammo Scavenger mods to pre-Shadowkeep levels to fit the mod stack
  • General Ammo Finder and Ammo Scavenger mods are unlocked for all players in Head Armor Mod and Leg Armor Mod sockets respectively
  • Added Season of Dawn Armor socket mod
      • The Vanguard, Crucible, Gambit, and Iron Banner armor sets will drop with this season's armor mod grab, allowing them to use the new Dawn Armor mods.
      • The Mercury target armor set also received the Mod Dawn Armor socket
  • Fixed various stacking exploits with mods related to the Garden of Salvation

General

  • Fixed an issue where enemies with the orange bar would show a shard of health when they died.
  • Fixed an issue where players would go in first person if they placed a raid banner while in their super. Moving forward, if a player places a banner while in their super, their super will be canceled.
  • Fixed Stormtrance's Lightning attack not activating if the attack trigger was held while super cast or after flashing.
  • Players can no longer push Vex Cyclops

REWARD SYSTEMS

Power and progression

  • Powerful and Spike reward limits have been increased
      • Powerful hood: 960, up to 950
      • Pinnacle Cap: 970, starting at 960
  • Rebalanced some XP sources on Mercury to align them with newer destinations
  • Fixed an issue where some chests were not granting any XP
  • Fixed an issue where Iron Banner bounties were giving more XP than other weekly rewards
  • The XP required to level up the Seasonal Artifact has been slightly changed
      • Some tiers had a much higher XP boost than the previous tier required and this boost was spread across all tiers to smooth out this curve

Missions and Bounties

  • Combine Strike / Crucible / Gambit Goals on Gunsmith's "Field Calibration" Weekly Reward into one goal that shares progress from all sources
  • Removed Valor / Infamy and Vanguard tokens from "Field Calibration" as there is no longer any requirement for any of these linked activities
  • Added repeatable gifts to Gunsmith
  • Added new mode-specific daily Crucible rewards (one per day, selected from full-time playlists and active rotators)
  • Reduced the completion requirements of numerous daily and repeatable Crucible rewards
  • Removed grenade and melee boons from the repeatable Crucible bounty pool
  • Fixed a rare issue where the quest item "??????" the mission "A Mysterious Disturbance" could get stuck in the inventory; has been removed from affected players
  • Reduced daily bounty target to 3 for defeating nightmares in K1 Lost Sector (previously required 7)
  • After the Vex invasion ended on the Moon, the number of Vex kills required to purify the Essence of Servitude has been reduced from 100 to 30
  • Removed the weapon requirement and changed the display of the target to a float instead of a percentage on Eriana's vote catalyst chase
  • Benedict and Werner will no longer show Lumina Exotic quest chain steps (reward / bonus steps) if the player is already active or has completed the steps.

traditions

  • Fixed an issue that prevented the pages of the "Letters from Eris" lore book from unlocking
  • Each of the eight Nightmare Hunts now unlocks a page upon completion

Season pass

  • The Season Pass now displays its active bonuses in a new Season Pass Bonus section, visible in the main Season Pass window in the Director
  • The Season 8 Nostalgic Engram has been retired and in its place players can now get the new Season 9 fond memories engram
  • Fixed an issue that prevented the Season Pass armor from displaying the correct stats and energy type when previewing
  • (Korea region only) Fixed a bug that caused the Season Pass purchase item to be referenced as "Get Season Pass" in the purchase confirmation and completion screens

Exotic engram

  • The exotic engram and the fairy engram have been compressed into a single new exotic engram
      • Once opened, it will award a new Exotic if one remains to be collected; otherwise, it contains a random piece of exotic armor
      • Note: the contents are still class specific

eververse

  • A new consumable is available in Eververse for 200 Bright Dust, the Concentrated Mattergem
      • When used, this item gives bosses a chance to release an Upgrade Module when they are defeated
      • The effect will last until an Update Module is found
      • Note: Only one concentrated Mattergem can be active at a time
  • The Eververse Store no longer allows the purchase of an item that is already in your Collection
  • Fixed a bug that prevented first year Vanguard shaders from being a potential drop in Vanguard level reward
  • Fixed an issue where the Riskrunner "Electric Violet" ornament was losing its pink glow
  • Fixed an issue that resulted in the Laconic Last Word ornament being purchasable when Forsaken was not owned

Ghosts

  • Fixed a bug that prevented the Banshee's favorite ghost bonus from dropping a larger volume of weapon telemetry
  • Fixed an issue where ghost particle effects were hidden when a ghost projection was active

  • Fixed an issue that prevented Black Armory forging activities from granting Glimmer upon completion

Collections and triumphs

  • Fixed a bug that allowed multiple copies of the same combat finisher to be acquired through collection
  • Fixed a bug that caused Universal Ornament objects to display in an improper order than intended (head, arms, chest, legs, then class)
  • Removed four incorrect collection items for the following items that were not obtainable:
      • Shade at the Gates (Season 3 Legendary Ship)
      • The Ruinous Flame (Season 3 Legendary Ship)
      • Shrinking Iris Shell (Ghost 3 Legendary)
      • Shining Scudo Shell (Stagione 3 Legendary Ghost)
  • Fixed an issue that prevented Season of Opulence versions of Optimacy's armor from unlocking corresponding collection items
  • The Black Armory Platinum Starling Ship in Collections> Gear> Ships> Season 5 now correctly states that a player must complete the "Master Smith" Triumph.
  • Fixed an issue with the Perfect Gambit triumph. Previously, the triumph was verifying the death of the players instead of dropping the moves. Triumph now properly checks for abandoned motions and will ignore players who die without motions.
  • Fixed a bug where the Ennead emblem (for presenting gifts to all cats in the city of dreams) was no longer awarded when claiming the Remember your Manners triumph.
      • Players affected by this issue will find they can repurchase the Emblem from their Collections> Flair> Emblems> Open World
  • Fixed issue with "WANTED: The Rifleman" triumph. It will now be completed with killing Rifleman or completing the associated mission. Players missing this Triumph will have to repeat the quest to earn the Triumph.

Glimmer

  • Weapon Mod slotting cost has been reduced from 5000 to 500 Glimmer
  • Fixed an issue that caused EDZ patrols to drop slightly more Glimmer than intended
  • Fixed an issue where Mercury patrols would drop slightly less Glimmer than intended
  • Fixed a bug that prevented Mars free treasure chests from assigning Glimmer when opened
  • Fixed a bug that prevented Mercury's free wandering chests from assigning Glimmer when opened
  • Fixed an issue that prevented raid encounters from rewarding glimmer upon completion

The sellers

  • Added additional weekly and repeatable rewards to Zavala, Drifter, Shaxx and Banshee-44 to allow for seasonal rotation
  • Updated completion requirements for some daily Crucible bounties
  • Repeatable bounties have been added to Gunsmith
  • Fixed an issue where Benedict 99-40's Imperial Engram would show armor version 1.0 of its content
  • Fixed an issue where Ada-1 could grant duplicate weapon mods
  • Fixed an issue where Eris Morn and the Drifter had lines of dialogue with distributors that would never trigger

World awards

  • Fixed an issue that frequently prevented the Duke MK.44 Hand Cannon from being a possible world drop
  • Fixed an issue that prevented No Turning Back, Wind terran, and Death by Scorn from launching frequently
  • This prevented the Vestian dynasty from being incorrectly displayed in the Legendary Engram previews

Reward UI / UX

  • Fixed an issue where the Gambit Prime and Revelry armor set icons were not collapsing properly on the character screen

New light

  • Fixed an issue where New Light players had to complete the Red War campaign to purchase Last Wish raid rewards
  • Fixed an issue where several Triumphs / Ghosts previously earned during the Red War Campaign could no longer be acquired
  • Fixed an issue where the "Adventurous" Triumph could not be completed on EDZ
  • Fixed an issue where weapons in the Homecoming mission would cause other equipment to drop at lower power levels than intended
  • Fixed an issue where some players could not complete the New Light "Intro: Crucible" mission

Player identity systems

  • Fixed an issue where the Hawthorne icon kept flashing for players who were running the Refer a Friend mission after the end.
  • The Armor 2.0 version of the 2019 Solstice armor will now properly use the Drained and Renewed 2019 Ornaments and Everlow Glows.

Escalation protocol

  • Changes and updates to the acquisition of rewards for escalation protocol activities
  • Escalation protocol The Wave 7 trunk no longer requires a key to open
  • The chest can be opened upon each successful completion of Wave 7
  • Each crate opening will award one piece of EP armor for your character class until you have the full set
  • After acquiring the full set, the next chest opening will award random armor
  • Loaded decryption keys and key fragments are removed from the game. These items will be removed from player inventories
  • The armory keys for spawning the Valkyrie javelins are unchanged and will remain
  • EP Weapon Drops have not been touched and are still cumulative Boss Drops

Ornaments with iron banners

  • Removed the classification requirements for the Season 3 Iron Banner Ornament. Now they can be freely applied to Season 7 Iron Banner armor

ACTIVITY '

Nightfall: The Ordeal

  • Cabal invades The Ordeal: Three new strikes added to The Ordeal formation and removed three of the Season 8 strikes
  • Added two new Cabal modifiers and three new strike specific modifiers
  • Added cabal modifiers to rotation
  • Vehicles now score Nightfall for both Nightfall and The Ordeal
  • Fixed tooltip name issue for The Scarlet Keep on Legend

strikes

  • Fixed Savathun's song not counting towards Vanguard's Weekly Hive Boss kill bounty
  • The weekly Vanguard Strikes challenge description now correctly tells players to complete Vanguard Strikes while matching the weekly Singe element
      • The target line will continue to say "0/3 Bounties" until Destiny 2.7.1 Update 2

Raids and dungeons

  • Altars of pain
      • Fixed an issue where if the boss phase expired while the boss was immune, 2 Nightmares spawned in another location on the altar before the level 5 waves would restart
  • Well of heresy
      • Fixed an issue where the dungeon incorrectly displayed an Apex Reward Challenge for players who had already completed the challenge on a different character of the same class
  • Garden of Salvation
      • Fixed an issue where players could survive Voltaic's overflow while standing guard as a Sentinel Titan or Arcstrider Hunter
  • Crown of Sorrow
      • Fixed several issues where Gahlran's deception could continue to deceive Guardians even after being defeated. Does this make sense? No? We have to go deeper ...
          • Fixed an issue where Gahlran's trick could defeat a team of Guardians even after the match was completed, preventing flawless runs
          • Fixed an issue where Gahlran's Deception could regenerate at full health after death, particularly if killed at the last moment before teleportation
  • Scourge of the past
      • Fixed triumph of the best of the best so that it was hidden unless completed
      • Increased the drop rate of the Past Scourge Exotic Raid "Anarchy" from 5% to 10%.

You can purchase Season of Dawn for $ 10 or 1000 silver. However, if you've already purchased the Digital Deluxe version for Shadowkeep, you're good to go.
