This section of our guide will show you how and where to find 13 ANCESTRAL WEAPONS of the game. Each of these weapons is unique and I possess particular characteristics and much superior to the Normal weapons. They can all be used by Noctis who will receive large stat bonuses that vary depending on the Ancestral Weapon Equipped.

These weapons do not take into account enemy resistances, then they will hit the opponents always causing a full damage regardless of the shield erected by the enemy. Among all these bonuses, however, there is also a malus that you should not underestimate, in fact the use of these weapons consumes the HP. But I assure you that they are worth finding and that they will be very useful especially in the clashes with the bosses of the post-game. Finally, by finding them all, you will also unlock the trophy / achievement FORMIDABLE HERITAGE.

WHERE TO FIND THE 13 ANCESTRAL WEAPONS OF THE ANCIENT KINGS

Le first 7 Ancestral Weapons will be unlocked in the course of the story mode. The remaining six, on the other hand, will be searched in the vast game world by discovering the dungeons where the are hidden Royal Tombs. They are very difficult to obtain and some of them require a level 55 or higher.

We therefore advise you to leave in search of these relics only after completing the story mode in complete calm because neither of these weapons can be missed. In fact, in the post-game of the game you will be free to explore each location as in a real free roaming. If you are unable to retrieve any weapon, we remind you that you can switch to EASY mode of the game at any time, from the main menu! Good hunting!

1 - DAGA DEL SALVIFICO

WHERE TO FIND IT:

You will get it automatically in the MAIN MISSION - THE WILL OF THE FATHER in Chapter 2.

FEATURES:

• 194 Attack Power
• Performs a two-hit Offensive Throw.
• The initial hit of the combos is the most powerful. Great for hitting and escaping with hit and run strategies.

2 - HALABARD OF THE TRIUMPHER

WHERE TO FIND IT:

You will get it automatically in the MAIN QUEST - THE POWER OF KINGS in Chapter 2.

FEATURES:

• 483 Attack Power
• Strength +60
• Performs a dive Offensive Projection.
• Slow but very powerful attacks.

3 - TWINS OF THE INESTINGUABLE

WHERE TO FIND IT:

You will get it automatically in the MAIN QUEST - THE CAVE BEHIND THE WATERFALL in Chapter 3.

FEATURES:

• 153 Attack Power
• Performs a multiple Offensive Throw.
• Attacks slow but precise and capable of dealing double damage.

4 - GARDEN OF THE MYSTIC

WHERE TO FIND IT:

You'll automatically get it in the MAIN MISSION - DAWN OF LEGEND in Chapter 4.

FEATURES:

• 396 Attack Power
• Strength +60
• Performs a unique Offensive Throw by hitting the enemy three times and then swooping down a fourth time by throwing itself at him.
• Stopping the combo allows Noctis to increase Aggression and then increase his strength by 100 for 10 seconds.

5 - KATANA OF THE SOLITAIRE

WHERE TO FIND IT:

You will get it automatically in the MAIN MISSION - POWER AND COMMAND in Chapter 10.

FEATURES:

• 361 Attack Power
• Faster combos
• Performs a delayed Offensive Projection, acts a few seconds after activation.

6 - TRIDENT OF THE SHAMAN

WHERE TO FIND IT:

You will get it automatically in the MAIN QUEST - IN THE VALLEY OF ICE in Chapter 12.

FEATURES:

• 388 Attack Power
• After each attack a clone of Noctis who continue to attack with up to three hits
• Performs an Air Dive Offensive Throw with up to three attacks

7 – SPADA DI REGIS

WHERE TO FIND IT:

You will get it automatically in the MAIN MISSION - THE WAR OF THE KING in Chapter 13.

FEATURES:

• 141 Attack Power
• Strength +100
• Performs a three-hit Offensive Throw.
• Performing a Final Attack increases Noctis' Aggression and thus increases his strength by 200 for 5 seconds.

8 - CROSSBOW OF THE INGENIOUS

WHERE TO FIND IT:

Inside the MAUSOLEUM OF THE INGENIOUS in the BALOUVE MINE. We recommend at least a level 50.

FEATURES:

• 203 Attack Power
• Magical Power +80
• It is used like a firearm but with the speed of a dagger.
• Deals bonus damage to enemies in a vulnerable state, and its attacks can pierce through opponents.

9 - FLAMBERGA OF THE HEGEMON

WHERE TO FIND IT:

In the COSTLEMARK TOWER, available only at night. We recommend at least a level 60.

FEATURES:

• 518 Attack Power
• Multiple hits with each attack causing more damage than the first
• Performs an Offensive Throw of more than 10 hits.
• Has a high chance of inflicting Mutilation.

10 - SHIELD OF THE MERCIFUL

WHERE TO FIND IT:

Visit the MAUSOLEUM OF THE MERCIFUL, accessible from Chapter 3, southwest of the Coernix Gas Station.

FEATURES:

• 251 Attack Power
• Strength -100
• It transforms into an indestructible cover that you can hide behind to recover HP.
• It consumes MP to function but may be the best healing weapon for those who don't use a lot of MP.

11 - Scepter of the Blessed

WHERE TO FIND IT:

Deep in the MALMALAM FOREST. We recommend at least a level 35.

FEATURES:

• 237 Attack Power
• Magical Power +150
• Performs a double Air Offensive Throw.
• Unique weapon that transforms into other Ancestral Weapons based on the type of attack:

Initial attack -> Trident of the Shaman

Combo -> Dagger of the Salvific

Combo forward -> Flamberg of the Hegemon with final blow as Halberd of the Triumph.

Side combo -> Mystic's Greatsword

Combo backwards -> Trident of the Shaman

12 - SHIRT OF THE IRREDUCIBLE

WHERE TO FIND IT:

On the summit of the RAVATOGH VOLCANO. We recommend at least a level 30.

FEATURES:

• 334 Attack Power
• Each attack causes Mutilation.
• Performs a slow double Offensive Throw.
• Slow, linear attacks not recommended against medium or high speed enemies.

13 - STAR OF THE BLOOD

WHERE TO FIND IT:

In the heart of the MYRL FOREST. We recommend at least a level 35.

FEATURES:

• 177 Attack Power
• Performs a ranged multiple Offensive Throw that ends with an evasive back flip.
• Normal attacks can pierce through targets by hitting others or by hitting multiple parts of the same large target.
