Genshin Impact is getting a new free four-star weapon in version 2.3, designed to serve as a signature weapon for the five-star character Albedo. While this isn't strictly his weapon, there aren't many characters in the game who will benefit from Cinnabar Spindle's unique passive.
As of this writing, it is not officially known how players will get the Cinnabar Spindle. However, leaks have shown that a new event will take place on Dragonspine, once again involving our favorite Geoalchemist, Albedo. As a result, getting the cinnabar melt will likely be a similar affair to how we got the holiday wish.
In other words, the Cinnabar Spindle will be a unique event weapon that we will get for free by participating in the Albedo affairs. How does the cinnabar spindle hold up against the rest of the Albedo options? Note, all information below is based on leaks, which can be updated at any time. - Secondary statistic level: 15% at level 1, 69% at level 90
- Passive: Immaculate Heart: Elemental ability's DMG is increased by 40% of DEF. This effect is canceled 0,1 seconds after the elemental ability deals DMG and therefore will fit on a 1,5 second DC.

Is mandrel cinnabar good?
It's really worth talking about this weapon just for Albedo. There are no other sword users in the game that do well with DEF% and this sword is dealt out during an event revolving around him. It's clear this is a weapon designed for Albedo, and if you don't own it, you won't find much use for the cinnabar spindle.
However, if you have Albedo, you may be interested in upgrading his weapon. In fact, its widely accepted best-in-slot right now is generally a three-star weapon called the Harbinger of Dawn. This weapon increases both his critical rate% and critical damage% as long as his health stays above 90%, which is easy for him while staying out of bounds. (This, of course, varies by situation. For example, corrosion can greatly reduce the Harbinger of Dawn value.)
This weapon provides a big boost to its elemental skill damage, which is the most attractive part of Albedo. Its ability scales relative to DEF, so this weapon not only provides a large increase in DEF%, but also a large increase in DMG% of the skill due to the weapon's passive. With more and more corroded enemies on the way, the Cinnabar Spindle is likely to be a generally more useful weapon for Albedo.
