The Luxurious Sea Lord is a free new four-star Claymore weapon given away in Genshin Impact. It sounds a bit of a joke, having the literal look of a big fish, but the weapon itself is actually pretty decent.
This fish weapon is available to all players as part of the Moonchase Festival event. To get the actual weapon, all you need to do is complete the Moonlight Seeker mission and find all the Moonchase spells and chests.
Once you have located all the amulets and chests, you will get the base weapon completely free. As a free weapon, upgrades for the Luxurious Sea Lord are also available for free during the event. To get the refinements, players will need to complete all Trail of Delicacies challenges.
How good is the luxurious lord of the sea?
The Luxurious Sea-Lord competes directly with the Prototype Arcaic (another free Claymore) as a free-to-play weapon available to all players. In this sense, the best way to think about this weapon is to consider the respective passives of both weapons and how they benefit your characters.
Luxurious Sea-Lord at level 90 has a maximum attack of 454 with a substat of ATK%, increasing your ATK by 55,1%. Meanwhile, the archaic prototype has a higher base attack of 565, but a lower ATK%, rising to only 27,6%. In fact, the offensive thrust will end up being more or less the same.
The big draw of Luxurious Sea-Lord is the passive effect of the weapon, Oceanic Victory. This passive will increase the burst damage by 12% or 24% at maximum of refinements. It will also invoke a "titanic tuna" that treats 200% DMG ATK as DMG AoE. Meanwhile, Prototype Arcaic's passive will deal 240% ATK DMG in a small AoE every 15 seconds.
Claymore characters addicted to their explosions will benefit from the Luxurious Sea-Lord more than the Archaic Prototype. The weapon works great with Beidou benefiting greatly from the passive's increased burst damage. Additionally, the Luxurious Sea-Lord is better suited to Diluc than the Prototype Arcaic, as it often relies on burst damage.
However, if you are using a character addicted to normal attacks, such as Razor, the Archaic Prototype is better. It's important to note that characters like Noelle and Razor will DON'T benefit from the passive of the Luxurious Sea Lord. This is because most of their burst damage registers as normal attack hits.
