First of all you will have to get traps and tranquilizers, necessary to tame even the most ferocious of animals, you can recover them in shops or make them yourself, alternatively you can also receive them as a reward from completing a mission. So, to catch a monster you will need:

  • Sleep Bomb: Thanks to this particular item, you can KO a monster
  • Shock Trap: Combine the thunder bug with a trap to create this devastating gadget

After placing the two items in the inventory for quick access, start hurting the monster until it reaches critical status, you will notice this by observing both the monster's behaviors and the mini map.

At this point, place the trap and give it inside with the Bombs to put it to sleep, finally use the net to catch it. Of course, this is valid for creatures of medium or large size, for smaller animals a bomb and a trap are enough, it is not necessary to weaken them, also because you risk killing them.
