Call of Duty: Vanguard - The best tips and strategies for the Red Star map

Red Star is a complicated Call of Duty: Vanguard map that will keep you on your toes. Moving from section to section at a brisk pace is the only way to do it right, and we have some of the best tips and strategies for keeping your K / D relationship positive.

Domination and Patrol are some of the best ways to play the Red Star map. A is outdoors, B is in a narrow corridor, and C is in the back of the map. They all require different strategies and weapons to be successful. We recommend that you use medium and long range weapons for this map. Short-range weapons like an SMG or a Combat Rifle work inside the office building, but while you're outside, you're an easy target as it's such an open space.

Let's start with point A. The best way to protect it is to get around the green truck next to it. Going to the top of the hood will give you decent cover from the enemies in front of you. However, if your enemies are coming from both sides, get out and use the hood cover to protect yourself from the oncoming fire. Keep slipping around for best results. It is not recommended to use the looted wall as grenades are commonly thrown around the flag.

Snipers can observe Section A by climbing to the roof of the building opposite. You can't directly shoot whoever is capturing the flag, but you can shoot anyone who is nearby. For assault rifle users who are looking to attack point A, get off at the abandoned bus cable and mount the metal cans. Just watch out for enemies coming from point B if it gets taken over.

The office building (point B) is the most difficult area of ​​Red Star as it is very populated. When you enter, try to read the situation and where the enemies are coming from. Near the warehouse, there is a window with some boxes covered with green canvas. For enemy soldiers coming from side C, there is an open door that you can use to take out unsuspecting forces.

However, you must also be aware of the external path to the left of the office you are in. Enemies can swarm into your spot too, so listen for some footsteps in the snow to your left or right. If you hear something, enter the window as fast as possible and improvise. Hugging the west-facing stair wall in the office can also be a successful option. While in this area, try to avoid flag B as much as possible as grenades often fill this spot with explosions.

If you need to capture point B, use a deployable cover range upgrade to protect yourself from incoming fire. It only works in one direction, so be sure to place it in the right direction from where enemies spawn. It is usually not useful, but on this occasion it is perfect. While in the office building, try to use the green tarp-covered boxes as cover as possible.

Point C (back alley) is complicated. It is located in the corner of some stone walls and is accessed through a ruined apartment building. Inside the building corridor from C, you will find a staircase. Use it to overlook the flag spot, but also pay attention to the level above you. Hear the footsteps from the second floor.

Protecting Charlie is a little easier. Go north on the compass from point C and you'll find another abandoned bus. Use the sandbags as cover on the left side to protect the area from soldiers arriving at B. From the south side, you can cover point C using the red car as cover. It is close to the flag itself. Again, pay attention to your back.

While fighting in the Red Star, it is best to avoid the main square as much as possible. You can easily get targeted by those on the roof of the office building or get hit from multiple angles. If you are in the square, however, use the sandbags surrounding the statue as a cover. On the other hand, don't make this a long-term coverage area. Go when you feel it is safe.
