At the beginning of the game the plot begins showing the very first 19 years of the player character's life, with four short-lived prologues; subsequently the protagonist abandons Vault 101 once and for all in desperate search for his beloved father, James, one of the most respected scientists in the whole community who for unknown reasons decided to escape to the outside world, leaving the bunker nevertheless incredibly discovers how the radiation has decreased a lot, consequently allowing life to different communities of human beings. 

A very, very interesting plot, which easily manages to keep the gamer glued to the screen for several hours. Fallout 3 is one of those games that we personally highly recommend adding to your video game collection.

Compared to their predecessors, titles that have met with significant success, Fallout 3 is set completely in America, takes place exactly on the north-east coast, inside the capital Washington after an unexpected nuclear war that broke out in the year 2077.

All the settings are carried out in completely open places, ranging from destroyed plains to city ruins, closed places, such as the Vaults and much more.

The third chapter of Fallout was built with the same technology as the predecessor of Bethesda Softworks, in fact, it relies on the Havok physics engine, the Radiant AI and the same graphic engine, the Gamebryo 2.6. 

Criticism and sales 

Fallout 3 it was a great success but at the same time it was widely criticized, obtaining a score on Metacritic equal to 91 and on GameRankings 90. On the same day of debut the third chapter of Fallout it climbed to the top of the UK charts, surpassing as much as 57% of sales from Bethesda's previous title, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion.
