Genshin Impact: All classified free characters

Genshin Impact has a plethora of free characters available to all players. These characters are accessible to everyone and allow you to try the game without having to pay or spend Primogems for new characters.

Unfortunately, some of the free characters in Genshin Impact have a reputation for being weak or worse than many of the new characters in the game. However, this is not always the case and many free characters have their place in the game.

It is also important to note that every single character in the game is actually viable. You can use any of these characters on your favorite team and clear all game content. Therefore, even if a free character here is ranked lower than another, that shouldn't stop you from using a character you really like.

Here are all the free Genshin Impact characters ranked, in order from worst to best.

Noelle

Unfortunately, Noelle is arguably the weakest free character in the low-investment game. Noelle is given to all players for free through a guaranteed beginner banner, allowing you to use free summons earned while playing at a discounted rate.

Noelle is weak at low investment, as her shields and heals now pale in comparison to other characters in the game. In order for her to heal the team, she needs to take time on the pitch, which significantly reduces your team's damage.

Noelle is really cool at high levels of investment. This requires her Constellation 6, which means that getting it to its fullest potential is very expensive. Under Constellation 6, its power level is not the same.

Barbara

Barbara is a strong healer, but pure healing in Genshin Impact is not much desired. Most of the healers in the game offer another level of utility, such as Bennett with high burst damage and his attack buff. Additionally, Barbara's Elemental Ability inflicts Wet on the user, which can be harmful to the player as he can trigger elemental reactions on yourself.

It is suitable if you need a Hydro character on your team, but otherwise not recommended as it does not contribute significantly to team damage.

Traveler

The Traveler is a unique character, with three different kits to choose from. However, two of the traveler's kits are quite niche. The Anemo Traveler is generally weak and you will likely have stronger options to choose from. The Geo Traveler works well in Geo teams and can deal a lot of damage with its Elemental Skill and Elemental Burst. Geo Traveler can also support his team, as his Elemental Burst provides Crit Rate.

The Electro Traveler is perhaps most useful as a support, allowing you to load more Elemental Bursts into your team. However, the Electro Traveler has very low damage and is generally only useful as a support.

Amber

Amber is generally considered to be the worst character in the game, but she is actually a valuable Pyro support for some teams in the meta. For example, did you know that Amber can potentially be one of Hu Tao's strongest supports?

The reason Amber can be used as a support character is how quickly her Elemental Burst applies the Pyro element to enemies. If you can load his Elemental Burst fast enough, you will have tons of Pyro applications on enemies, which will allow you to activate Elemental Reactions.

Lisa

Lisa isn't particularly strong, but the Electro reaction is a valuable reaction for many teams in the game. Although Electro is generally considered a weak element, it is indispensable for physical teams due to the ability to activate the Superconduction reaction.

When you combine an Electro and Cryo attack, you create the Superconduct reaction, which reduces the physical resistance of enemies. This means that your physical damage dealers will deal a lot more damage. As a result, Lisa is a viable option to quickly apply Electro for many of these teams.

kaeya

Kaeya is a strong and versatile character who deals tons of damage. She is very useful as Burst Support, dealing a lot of damage with her Elemental Burst lei and applying tons of the Cryo element on enemies. However, he can also be used as the main Cryo DPS and physical transport.

Additionally, Kaeya is cheap and easy to build and can use a wide variety of different weapons and artifacts. It can be used as a Freeze stand, Fusion stand and is generally just a very versatile unit.

Xiangling

Xiangling is actually one of the strongest characters in the game. That's because he applies tons of Pyro to his Elemental Burst and deals an insane amount of damage as well. Xiangling is an indispensable part of many meta teams and is often paired with another 4-star character, Bennett.

It is also easy to build, capable of using many cheap weapons and using weak artifacts. Xiangling is truly one of Genshin Impact's best units and the best of her: it's free!
