Genshin Impact: Frostbearer - How to get it, stats and materials for ascension

The Frostbearer is an F2P weapon with a simple unlock requirement: you have to level up the Frost Tree in Genshin Impact to level 10. After that, you will get a blueprint that will allow you to forge the weapon at any forging station.

You will need a Northlander Catalyst Billet to melt the weapon. You can get them from certain mission rewards or from weekly farming bosses. The weapon looks nice, but is it a viable option for free-to-play players who need a Catalyst weapon?

• ATT: 42 - 510
• Secondary statistic: ATK%
• Secondary Statistical Levels: 9% - 41,3%
• Passive: Frost Burial: Hitting an opponent with normal and charged attacks has a 60% chance to form and drop an icicle of ice on top of them, dealing 80% AoE ATK DMG. Opponents hit by Cryo receive 200% ATK DMG from the popsicle instead. It can only occur once every 10 seconds.

Is the Frost Bringer good?

The Frostbearer is a weak weapon with no strong purpose to exist in Genshin Impact. It has a weak passive and stats that are outclassed by other 4-star weapons. Frostbearer has the advantage of being free-to-play, but even then you could opt for a Blackcliff Agate or a Royal Grimoire.

Players who have the Dodoco Tales, another free-to-play (but no longer available) weapon will have no reason to use the Frostbearer. The weapon could be useful if a Catalyst Cryo character is released, assuming it functions as a DPS character. Otherwise, you can simply take this weapon for collection or skip it altogether.
