Guide to finding the main Easter egg from Forsaken in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Zombies had a good run, but ultimately all things come to an end, unless they're undead. With the addition of its final map, Forsaken, the opening of the Dark Aether storyline is coming to a close with a really good map that is fun to play and has one of the best beautiful weapons we've ever seen in Chrysalax. For now, though, let's focus on the end of this chapter by completing the main quest for the Forsaken Easter Egg.

Before starting

There's honestly not much you need to prepare yourself for in this Easter egg quest. This quest can be done alone or as a team and won't take a significant amount of time to complete. The main weapon we will use is the Chrysalax Wonder Weapon as it is so good but if you are playing as a team, take the one you feel most comfortable with. Field updates are the same; use the one you like best. In our solo games, we prefer Ring of Fire or Aether Shroud.

First step: lift the block

We already have a guide on how to lift the lockdown in Forsaken, so do it. After Pack-a-Punch opens, go to the button on the wall next to the closed window and interact with it to play a cutscene. The man we wanted to bring back from the dark ether was actually the big bad all along, the Forsaken.

Step Two: Get the Chrysalax

It is not necessary to have the Chrysalax until later in the steps, but the weapon is so good that we highly recommend getting it as soon as possible for as many teammates as possible. Either hit the test machine, the Mystery Box or build it yourself.

The next three steps can be performed in any order.

Step Three: Get the fuel tank

Go to Fuel Processing (the area where you adjust the teleporter to enter the bunker. On each of the giant containers, there are consoles you can interact with. If you are playing in a team, all members must interact with these consoles at the same time. .

When the process begins, you will be stuck in this area with many zombies swarming inside. All you have to do is survive and kill all the zombies here. This is why we recommend that you have Chrysalax so you can tear them up quickly. You can check your progress by looking at the orange bars on the side of the containers. Once completed, the fuel tank will drop to the ground in the middle.

Step four: get the housing unit

Teleport back to the bunker and make your way to the meeting room. In one of the corners there is a suspended object that you need to take down. For this, advance rounds until you get an Abomination to spawn. Get under the object and wait for it to load. Let it hit the wall and the object will fall, allowing you to grab the housing unit.

Step Five: Get the Monitoring Device

For the next part, you'll need any standard pistol with the Deadwire ammo mod from the Pack-a-Punch machine. You can buy it for 2.000 points.

With the mod, go to the Arcade and stand next to the car called the Grand Prix. Shoot a zombie so that it gets electrocuted in front of the car and it will ignite. Interact with the car to pay 2.000 points to take control of an ARC-XD.

At first, you will be placed in the middle of the arcade machines. Pass under the flag and leave the Arcade to reach the TV Store across the street. Make your way behind the counter and there's a vent your car's wrist will drop. Go through the vent and turn right to find a shelf. Stand to the left of the shelf, jump and then blow up the car to drop the shelf forward.

Now that you are back to your senses, go to the TV store and grab the monitoring device that attaches to the wall.

Step Six: Get the three catalyzed crystal fragments

This step requires at least one person to have Chrysalax. After lifting the lockdown and starting the cutscene, three areas received a large cluster of aetherium crystals: the amplifier, the spawn area, and the roofs of storage area 5.

Three purple spheres float around each cluster. He shoots them with the Chrysalax to destroy them, but beware, the zombies will start spawning when you do. When all three orbs have been destroyed, he changes the Chrysalax into his ax shape and shuffles the cluster to break it. There will now be a small Crystal Shard item that you need to collect. This will replace any tactical gear you currently have equipped. An Abomination will be spawned. You must throw that shard into one of the Abomination's mouths. When you do this successfully, its zombie tail will begin to glow orange. Now kill the Abomination to release a catalyzed crystal fragment. Repeat this operation in all three positions.

Also, if you kill the Abomination too early or miss the shot, go back to the cluster and grab another shard.

Step Seven: Drive the Aether Neutralizer

Beware, this is the point of no return. There will be another point ahead for upgrading weapons and gaining perks, but you'll want to get good armor and all your perks for this immediate step. Also, make sure you pack-a-punch the Chrysalax as much as possible. You might want to save some points for the checkpoint as well, as you won't get much here.

Go to Main Street and interact with the workbench in the middle of the street to create the Aether Neutralizer. When you succeed, you will have to wait for the device to recharge and all the characters will talk to each other. Kill zombies as they enter. When ready, the Neutralizer will emit an explosion removing debris.

You'll mostly recognize this next step if you've played the second main Outbreak Easter Egg mission. The Neutralizer is creating a safe zone where you can walk safely without hurting yourself. However, as you walk with the Neutralizer, the zombies will run towards you and it will quickly lose fuel. You have to get out of the safe zone and find some orange crystals. Break them and they will drop more catalyzed crystal shards. Collect them and store them in the Neutralizer to continue doing this.

The farther you go, the more zombies spawn, making this especially difficult on its own. If you are low on health, there are not many areas to run to recover as out of the bubble it hurts and zombies run into the bubble. Do your best to kill the zombies as they run at you. Also, if you are playing in a team, the Neutralizer will not move unless all teammates are in the safe area.

When you get to the end of the road, the Neutralizer will shut down and the Pack-a-Punch machine and Wunderfizz will appear. Stock up and interact with the door in front of you to start the final boss fight.

Step Eight: Take Down the Forsaken

This boss fight is really simple and, thankfully, there is no time limit. To start, run forward and shoot the crystals from both shoulders of the Forsaken. Now you will need to follow Samantha Maxis to the area and kill the zombies within the purple aura below her. This will charge the essence into Sam, and she will deposit in one of the two large cannons on the left or right side of the area. She jumps on the gun and aims at the now bright red hour shoulders. If you don't hit it hard enough, simply repeat the essence refill process and do it again. He may recover his health, but there is nothing to worry about.

Work to shoot both shoulders and when you bring the Forsaken to half health, there will be a brief pause in the fight where the Forsaken give you a vision. When Samantha saves you, the fight resumes.

In the second half of the fight, shoot the Forsaken abdominals to destroy the crystals there and then do the same essence reload process. When his abs have taken enough damage, the last area to aim for is his head.

As stated above, this boss fight is very simple. Just go shoulders, abs and then head to finish it off. If you are running out of ammo, kill higher level enemies like Manglers or Mimics and they will drop ammo for you. The Forsaken will launch some area attacks such as a freezing blizzard and some orbs, but avoid them and jump into Samantha's range whenever possible. With no time limit, you have all the time in the world and you need to focus on survival before anything else.

Once defeated, the Forsaken will unleash Outbreaks around the world and you and your team will slowly be injured over time and fall. Do not worry; a cutscene will soon start playing, and then you'll have finished the main Easter egg quest in Forsaken.
