How to complete the Lost Souls side objective of the dark chest in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Outbreak Zombies

There are constantly new achievements added to Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Zombies Outbreak mode, each bringing their own reward to justify the attempt. Season XNUMX of Reloaded brought a new black chest covered in dark aether energy with a lost soul begging you to free it. Here's how to complete the Lost Soul secondary objective in Outbreak in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Zombies.

Unfortunately, you'll have to explore to find the Lost Soul chest. There is no icon for the location of the chest on your map, but fortunately the radiant energy will betray it quite well.

When you find the chest, the lost soul will ask you to break the three locks. These locks actually take the form of swarms of insects as you would see coming from the Horde, but in a Dark Aether purple light.

There will be three swarms of insects in the vicinity of the chest. When you get close, it will fly around the area and attack you. During this time, zombies will appear continuously. Avoid all their attacks and kill the swarm of insects.

After the swarm is dead, one of the orbs above the chest will disappear. Go around the area and find the other two swarms to unlock the chest. There are tons of good rewards from this secondary objective, including a free Pack-a-Punch upgrade. You can also receive weapons, recovery items, gear, and support series.
