How to get the path retraced and the best God Rolls in Destiny 2

The track rifle family has a new member introduced in Bungie's 30th anniversary event in Destiny 2. Paying homage to the tracking rifle in Halo: Reach, this track rifle is unique in that it is the first legendary track rifle that we saw in Destiny. Now you are no longer forced to use an Exotic to gain the perks this type of weapon has to offer, allowing them to get a little more creative with your gear. In this guide, we'll tell you how to get your hands on this weapon and some shots to watch out for.

How to get

Acquiring this weapon is pretty straightforward. All you have to do is play the Dares of Eternity activity and earn the treasure keys; once you have received one, pay a visit to Xur's Treasure and go to the chest located to Xur's right on the platform. This chest provides event weapons for the cost of a treasure key. The nature of the weapon you get depends entirely on chance, but with any luck you'll be granted this legendary track rifle.

God rolls

This weapon can have some notable perks like Sustenance, Eating Frenzy, Disruption Break, and One for All, just to name a few, as well as a couple of new perks like Perpetual Motion and Golden Tricorn. Below are some combinations of perks that we have found workable for PvE and PvP.

PvE

• Subsistence and one for all / Golden tricorn

With subsistence, this weapon essentially transforms into a poor man's Prometheus lens, which returns the ammo in the magazine after each kill. Combined with One For All, which increases damage after hitting three separate targets, this weapon is an absolute red bar kill. The new Golden Tricorn perk is an excellent alternative that grants bonus damage for final blows with this weapon further augmented by grenades and melee kills of the same damage type.

PvP

• Perpetual motion and harmony / Golden tricorn

Perpetual Motion is a new perk introduced with the 30th anniversary event, which grants stability, handling and bonus reload speed while in motion. Given the nature of Crucible, this perk is key as you are always on the go during a match. By pairing it with Harmony, where final blows with other weapons improve weapon damage and performance for a short time, you can injure nearby fighters after finishing a firefight. As previously mentioned, Golden Tricorn can be a viable option depending on your play style.
