There is a new selection of weapons in Destiny 2 called Ritual Weapons. You can get them from Lord Shaxx, The Drifter, and Zavala. You have to complete the respective missions to earn these weapons.
Completing The Drifter's quest, Get Closer, rewards you with the Python Shotgun. You have to do several things for The Drifter, all while playing in the Gambit matches of the game, which is an NPC and a player versus player oriented game mode.
To complete Get Closer, you must:
- Land 500 shotgun final rounds
- Land 150 shots at close range of the shotgun
- Reach the level of Infamy "Heroic" in Gambit
Rifles are a great weapon for Guardians who are willing to engage their enemies in close range combat. Most NPCs and fellow Guardians can barely resist a snap from most shotguns in the game. However, missing can spell the end for you, so you need to make sure every shot counts.
Those who play Gambit may find that reaching the "Heroic" level will be the first thing they do during this mission. You just need to get 2050 points and winning a single game earns 120 points, while losing 65 gives you 65. You shouldn't take too long to climb the ranks and finish this part of the quest.
You may find that shotgun kills in Gambit don't offer too many challenges, but don't let your guard down. Running through the army of enemies might be a little tricky, especially if you don't have too friendly support. Things only get worse when an enemy Guardian invades from the other side, intent on hunting you down.
