How to get Wastelander M5 and the best God Rolls in Destiny 2

The Chaperone isn't the only rifle in town that can reload in style with a flip of the lever now, introducing the Wastelander M5, a legendary Tex Mechanica kinetic rifle to the lightweight frame family. Introduced in Bungie's 30th anniversary event, this shotgun can roll with some very nice perk combinations, making it necessary for those looking for a kinetic shotgun that isn't a bullet. In this guide, we will look at how to acquire this weapon and some combinations of perks to look out for in PvE and PvP activities.

How to get

Getting your hands on this shotgun isn't as difficult as you might think and only requires you to complete the Dares of Eternity event and collect the treasure keys. After collecting a key, all you need to do is visit Xur's Treasure and interact with the white chest on the edge of Xur's platform. At the cost of a key per drop, it is advisable to have a few keys on hand as the nature of the treasure chest is completely random.

God rolls

This shotgun can roll with notable shotgun advantages such as Trench Barrel, One-Two Punch, Dual Loader, and Subsistence, which puts this weapon in the ring with The Comedian shotgun. Perk rolls are now subjective and entirely up to your taste, but we have a few combinations to consider for PvE and PvP activities.

PvE

  • Subsistence and trench barrel / One-two punches

If you manage to get this combination of benefits, then a surprise awaits you. This weapon transforms into an absolute demon for general activities with these advantages. Running around enemies with a red bar that, after killing them, instantly add a hit to the weapon is a great feeling. Paired with Trench Barrel or One-Two Punch, this shotgun will knock major enemies into the dust.

PvP

  • Slideshot and wind that kills / Harmony

Mobility is key in Crucible, as players will know, and these perks take advantage of it to the benefit of the shotgun. Slideshot is great for quickly reloading as you slide into place, followed by a kill to increase mobility, range and handling, thanks to Killing Wind. For those who prefer a more secondary approach with their rifles, Harmony is a great alternative that improves weapon damage and performance after receiving the final blows with other weapons.
