How to pass in FIFA 22

FIFA 22 is here, and while football didn't return home to England during the EUROs in 2021, the beautiful game is still alive and well in EA's latest. But if you want to be successful in the game, you need to know the basics. Passing is one of the most important factors in this game, and FIFA 22 offers three different ways to perform this action. Experiment with these passing skills and you'll be able to prepare for glory in no time.

Before moving on to the types of passes, you should know that FIFA 22 takes into account how long you hold the button down. The longer you hold the button down, the stronger the ball will be thrown. If you want a very short passage, just tap the button. If you want to pass the ball from one side of the court to the other, you will have to hold the button down longer. It takes practice to learn how much button pressure is required to make the perfect pass.

First, let's cover the ground passage. With the touch of the A Button (or the cross button on PlayStation platforms), the ball will move along the grass like butter on pancakes. There are no surprises as it is a smooth transfer of football from one player to another. The ground pass is pretty slow by itself, but you can make it faster by holding down the RB (or R1) button with the ground pass button. The ball will be more difficult to catch as the player won't have much time to react, but it can confuse the opponent with his speed.

The second is the passage. By pressing the Y key (triangle key), you can bring the ball forward so that the chosen player can catch it. This is great for maneuvering around a defense line and staying onside at the same time. Be careful, however, as that persistent ball on the field can be easily caught by the rival team. This can also be strengthened by holding RB (R1) at the same time.

Finally, it's the pass of the lob. Using the X key (square button), you can throw the ball over the head of an opposing player to pass it to your teammate. This takes a little more practice, but if you can nail it, this is the perfect way to cross the ball and create a goal opportunity.
