How to start the Dungeon Grasp of Avarice in Destiny 2

Bungie's 30th anniversary event is finally here and with it comes a new, long-awaited dungeon activity for players to explore and battle. While dungeons usually contain massive story beats and are set on destinations that coincide with the direction of Destiny 2 lore, the Grasp of Avarice Dungeon is a love letter to longtime fans of the Destiny franchise and contains many different encounters that will give players that nostalgic feeling.

Complete the Challenges of Eternity activity

Upon launch of Destiny 2 for the first time during the 30th Anniversary Event, players will be instantly catapulted into the new offensive activity of Dares of Eternity. Make sure you complete it for the first time and don't go into orbit immediately as it may disrupt the progression of your quest. Upon completion, players will have access to the Treasure of Xur, where they will earn a new mission, some rewards, and gain access to the dungeons.

While at Xur's Treasure, it is worth taking the Gjallarhorn mission from Xur as completing the Grasp of Avarice dungeon is one of the steps.

Access to the dungeon

Accessing the dungeon is much easier than you might think. Navigate to your playmaker from anywhere in the game world and find the new location of Eternity located just below the Moon's destination. After clicking on Eternity, you will be presented with three different activities: Dares of Eternity, Xur's Treasure Hoard, and Grasp of Avarice Dungeon. To start the dungeon, simply click on the Grab Avarice activity, select the difficulty and tackle the Loot Cave.

We recommend entering on Legend difficulty first to get a feel for the mechanics and enemies, then going on Master difficulty for more of a challenge.
