Nioh: What you need to know for survival

If you come from Bloodborne o Dark Souls then you will find Nioh to your liking and not too difficult, if instead you are new to this type of game, then it is good to have some things in mind in order to get the better of the enemies.

  • Make sure not to use up all of your stamina bar (Green) in combat, as you will be subject to temporary paralysis that could result in instant death if hit by an enemy.
  • Choose the path to take and therefore your style of play, after which you upgrade the character according to what you have chosen, keeping under control the values of weapons and equipment and improving the statistics required by them
  • Make sure you have the following slots handy: Elixir, Antidote, Branch of Himorogi, Saske of Saisetsu Shin and the Sloth Talismans III, Weakness III, Quick Change Scroll and Rejuvenation Talisman III
  • Make sure you have the Summoner Candle in your inventory, with which you can recall spirit and amrita earned after your death, avoiding reaching the tomb where you died.
  • When choosing a certain piece of equipment, make sure they belong to the same SET, don't just consider the defensive multiplier. Wearing a full armor (including weapons) from the same SET, will allow you to take advantage of associated bonuses
  • Do not forget to improve weapons and armor from the blacksmith, combining two similar to each other in level to be able to increase the same or replace the attributes
  • By completing the requests and subsequently the challenges of the Dojo, you will unlock the possibility to purchase new skills, make sure you complete all the tasks
  • Among the skills to buy and recommended, be sure to unlock those that allow you to obtain the creation of the mentioned Talismans. Braipo allows you to slow down the enemy, Weakness instead lowers the opponent's defense and Reinvigoration heals you over time and gradually, therefore without resorting to Elixirs.
  • Make sure you only use the Spirits that suit your style, among them we recommend Suzaku, which allows you to come back to life if killed
  • Complete the main story (including Epilogue) to unlock a new difficulty level, access to DLCs, the ability to use 2 in-game spirits and more
  • In Nioh there are for now 4 difficulty levels, by playing them you can get better and better equipment and weapons, but beware, the missions increase in difficulty, so make sure you have the right level before undertaking them or get help from a friend
  • After completing the main story, you can play via del Forte and then Demon and Sage with a friend via the Bull Portals, which are accessible by going to the Starting Point in any region. In this mode you will not consume jars for summoning and you will be able to resurrect several times in the game and you will not lose the Amritas accumulated in the past, but those obtained will add up, as well as reward you with glory points to spend in the hidden tea house to unlock transformations and even more
  • If you are unsure about your stats, you can always go back with a reincarnation book, which you can get from the blacksmith and with which you can redistribute points
  • There are 2 new Twilight Missions every day, complete them for hefty rewards
  • Make sure you find all the Kodamas in a level, this way you can receive one of the proposed blessings including greater Amrita, which you will need to level up or empower the Spirit
  • Keep your agility under control and opt for A or B, which allow you to hit more quickly and for a longer time but suffering more damage, in these two modes it is therefore recommended to dodge the blows, with C or D you will suffer less damage but you will move slowly, also the stamina bar will wear out faster and take longer to recover
  • If you want to access all the skills, Dojo missions or want to equip yourself with all the spirits, armor and weapons, at least level 20 is required in each statistic, so our advice is to bring all the statistics to 20 and then dedicate yourself only to the one you are interested in
  • By going to Titles and then to Prestige Summary, you can improve some agyo and ungyo attributes
  • To switch from one difficulty to another, press the SQUARE button after completing the game, for each way (difficulty) the completion of the EPILOGUE mission is required to unlock it, this mission is particularly difficult so make sure you have a higher level first to face it
  • At the end of the mission, go to the Sanctuary and sell everything you have collected superfluous, we advise you to arrange the objects by TYPE, in this way you can quickly find any clones of the various objects you have collected. Make sure you keep the strongest items that are part of a SET
  • Don't forget to use embers, stones and locks at the end of the mission, they will reward you with amrita points or skills for the purchase of new combos
