The Trade Evolution process consists of evolving your Pokemon by trading them with a friend.

The process works a little differently in this game than others, so we have prepared this handy guide that covers everything you need to know about trading evolutions.

If you want to trade Pokemon with someone you added as a friend (you have their trainer code), meet them and follow these simple steps:

1. You both should choose the Pokemon in your inventories that you want to trade.
2. Make sure the trading details are up to scratch.
3. Tap Next.
4. Review the trade again.
5. Tap Confirm.

How to evolve Pokemon by trading
Usually in Pokemon games, you can only evolve certain Pokemon via trading, but in Pokemon Go, these same monsters can also be evolved by giving them Candy.

However, you can evolve any good Pokemon you warrant via trade for free as their Candy requirement has been removed.

While this feature is a new addition, it applies to any existing Pokemon in your inventory that you have previously acquired through trading.

Although no Pokemon in the game need to be swapped to evolve, the process benefits the following Pokemon by eliminating their Candy requirements:
