Pokemon Mystery Dungeon DX Whiscash Pond | What does it do?

Whether you're playing the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Rescue Team DX demo or the full version, you've probably stumbled upon a body of water north of Pokemon Square containing a catfish-like Pokemon called Whiscash. It seems a little odd that everything in Pokemon Square serves a specific purpose, but this entire section doesn't look good for much other than conversation. If this Nintendo Switch remaster is similar to the games it is based on, however, Pokemon Mystery Dungeon DX Whiscash Pond is going to become very important indeed.

Cosa fa Whiscash Pond in Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Rescue Team DX?

Pokemon Mystery Dungeon DX Whiscash Pond | What does it do?

At the start of the game and throughout the entire Pokemon Mystery Dungeon DX demo, all you can do at Whiscash Pond is talk to the Whiscash who calls him home. While the creature is capable of imparting knowledge and has even made an appearance in the Pokemon anime, most players are looking for something more.

In both Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team and Blue Rescue Team - the Game Boy Advance titles Mystery Dungeon DX is based on - after progressing through the story, the "Luminous Cave" appears in the center of Whiscash Pond. By entering the cave it is possible to evolve your Pokemon, which do not automatically evolve upon reaching a certain level like in the main Pokemon RPG series.

Of course, it's also entirely possible that Nintendo changed this feature for the Nintendo Switch remaster. Whether or not Whiscash Pond will eventually be used for the same purpose remains to be seen, but it is reasonable to assume that it will serve a greater purpose than just being a cool place to chat with a catfish.

We will keep you informed after the launch of the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Rescue Team DX on March 6, 2020.
