What is the gunsmith in Call of Duty: Vanguard?

It has been confirmed that Gunsmith will return to the Call of Duty franchise with Call of Duty: Vanguard. What is the gunsmith? It is a system where players can customize their weapons, allowing you to change the way a weapon is used in combat, the appearance and small details that make each weapon fit your specific overall style. Two noteworthy features are coming with Gunsmith for Call of Duty: Vanguard.

The first type of customization option added for Vanguard is the ballistics option. This means that we can expect how a bullet reacts while in the air, hence the overall trajectory of a bullet before it hits the target. Depending on the type of weapon you are using, you may want it to react differently. For example, a sniper wants the bullet to fall in a certain point, closer to the target, while a submachine gun wants to remain as fixed and straight as possible all the time.

The second customization option coming to Gunsmith in Vanguard is the ammo type. Again, we saw this briefly in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, where players could choose to modify a weapon's bullets.

At the moment, we don't have the exact details on what this all means or how it works directly in Call of Duty: Vanguard's Gunsmith. However, we imagine you'll be able to improve a weapon's accuracy, damage, and speed based on your choices, giving you additional customization for each piece of gear you create.
