In a series with 890 different monsters to collect, one of the ways Game Freak differentiates Pokemon is by creating different requirements to catch, train, and evolve them. Sometimes items like Evolution Stones are needed for Pokemon evolutions, but some items occasionally help trainers catch Pokemon in the first place. The Velox Ball
makes it easy to catch Pokemon skittish, so this guide will cover where to buy Quick Balls in Pokemon Sword and Shield and how to get them. This is for all of you coaches out there bothered by those pesky Wimpods.

Quick balls are extremely useful at the start of the game. They manage to catch Pokemon like Wimpod - which has an ability that makes him run away if taken below half HP - an easy task, and it's especially nice to have to catch Pokemon like Coffing that often use self-destruct, ruining your chances of capture them. Unfortunately, there's no way to consistently get them before the game is over.

Quick balls are sometimes sold for Watts as part of the Wild Area supplier's daily spin stock, so you may find some. Otherwise, the only way to get them in advance is via a digital code, available to anyone who bought a Sword or Shield via Nintendo eShop before January 15, 2020. If you were one of those people, you should have received an offer code for 12 quick balls for the email associated with your Nintendo Account.

The only place that regularly sells Quick Balls is the Pokemon Center in Wyndon, a town in the northern part of the Galar that you will only have access to after beating all eight Pokemon Sword and Shield gyms. Follow the story to get there and then you can purchase Quick Balls for 1.000 Pokedollars each (as well as Luxury Balls and Repeat Balls).
