Call of Duty Modern Warfare: how to play Splitscreen Multiplayer

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is here and ready for anyone interested to jump into the game for a look at the heavy action. An interesting aspect of the game is being able to play with your friends. However, not everyone will have access to the game for personal financial reasons. Do players have the opportunity to play with a friend online through local co-op and split-screen mode?

How to play Splitscreen Multiplayer in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare

To get players into the game immediately, friends can jump into the campaign if they have a second controller and start trying it out. The campaign is fully accessible with split screen features and local co-op. When you have a second controller, you are good to go. There is no need to worry too much.

You can also try co-op mode through the return of Special Ops. It's a blend of a campaign story with a full multiplayer experience, except that all enemies are angry NPCs. Players in specific modes have missions that they will have to tackle with unique objectives to complete during their time playing it.

However, players will not be able to jump into a legitimate multiplayer match. This mode is reserved exclusively for a single player for access. You can't take a friend to the online spectrum and level them up with you, prestige, or do anything fun. If you are willing to switch the controller when you are playing, then it can turn into a multiplayer experience. But aside from that, two local friends will have to stick with Modern Warfare campaign mode and special operations. You can party with your friends and play the multiplayer content, though, so there is that.

Unfortunately, players will not be able to play local co-op with Zombies. A Zombies mode isn't coming Modern Warfare, which might put off some players who couldn't wait to see what Infinity Ward had in their pocket regarding this mode.
