Can you catch Zamazenta in Pokemon Sword?

Pokemon Sword and Shield are now available and many of you are already well on their way to completing his Pokedex. To complete the entire Pokemon Sword and Pokedex Shield, you will need to own both Zamazenta and Zacian. Can you catch Zamazenta in Pokemon Sword? Can you catch Zacian in Pokemon Shield? Read on to find out the answers to both questions asked.

Can you catch Zamazenta in Pokemon Sword?

As far as we know, you cannot catch Zamazenta in Pokemon Sword. There doesn't seem to be any way you can catch a Zamazenta Sword Pokemon, which makes our task of catching them all more difficult. As an exclusive version of the Legendary Pokemon, you will need to own Pokemon Shield in order to catch Zamazenta.

If you are desperate to complete your Pokemon Sword Pokedex, however, there is a way you can get a Zamazenta. Trading. You should be able to collect a Zamazenta through trading, both online and locally. Well, you should be able to if you're lucky enough to see a commercial one.

Can you catch Zacian in Pokemon Shield?

Just like you can't catch Zamaenta in Pokemon Sword, you can't catch Zacian in Pokemon Shield. At the time of writing, it appears that the only way to catch a Zacian is to own Pokemon Sword. Again, this makes completing your Pokemon Shield Pokedex more complicated. Thankfully though, you should be able to get a Zacian Shield Pokemon through trading, online or locally.

If you're lucky enough, someone will be willing to trade a Zacian with you. We recommend that you trade Zamazenta with Zacian if you know someone with the correct game. If you wish to go back with your Zamazenta or Zacian, you can always trade right away. Putting one of the Pokemon into your Pokedex for just one second will be enough to claim them towards completion.
