Does Call of Duty: Vanguard have zombies?

Although Call of Duty Zombies only started as an unlocked secondary mode after beating the Call of Duty: World at War campaign, it has quickly become one of the most beloved aspects of the series over the years, especially in the Treyarch games. It has a fun play cycle with a story full of Easter eggs that keeps the community coming back for more. However, not all Call of Duty games are released with a Zombies mode. The newer Modern Warfare didn't have one, for example. Will Call of Duty: Vanguard have zombies?

At the time of this writing, we can't say with 100% certainty that Call of Duty: Vanguard will have a Zombies mode. That said, recent leaks indicate that the game has it. If the leaks are accurate, even though Vanguard is a game developed by Sledgehammer, it appears Treyarch will lead the development of a Zombie mode within the game.

The leaks suggest that with Vanguard taking place in WWII, the story here would be something of a prequel to the Zombies story that began in Black Ops Cold War. This might make sense, given that the first Zombies map in Black Ops Cold War (Die Maschine) takes place in a remote Nazi experimental camp. Additionally, Call of Duty Zombies made its World War II debut with Nacht Der Untoten (found within Die Maschine). The current Zombies storyline also jumped between universes after Black Ops IV, so they could do a lot of new things with a new World War II setting.

If the leaks are accurate and Treyarch is working on Zombies in Vanguard, this is a first for the Call of Duty series. Sure, studios like Raven Software lend a hand on the multiplayer side of things in many Call of Duty games, but we've never seen one of Call of Duty's top developers put so much work into another studio's game.
