How to find and complete the haunted sectors in Destiny 2

The creepy time has officially come with the release of the Festival of the Lost event within Destiny 2. There are tricks to play, treats to find and masks to wear, but this year there is a new activity to earn your candy and the pages manifested inside, and it's scary. Instead of the usual Haunted Forest business we've had for the past couple of years, the Haunted Sectors are here to change the formula a bit, and the headless ones are here.

How to find the infested sectors

We recommend that you start by visiting the now decorated tower and acquiring the Gone But Not Forgotten mission from Eva Levante, the seller of the Festival of the Lost event. She is directly opposite where you land in the tower, so don't worry about not being able to find her. After collecting the mission, you need to complete a playlist task that will grant you 3 spooky pages and you will get 100 candies. We recommend doing a normal playlist strike, as both objectives will likely complete after a run.

After completing this step, your quest will tell you to complete a summoning ritual within a haunted sector. It may seem confusing at first, but getting into the Haunted Sector activity is as simple as any other playlist activity within Destiny 2. Start your director, then go to the Tower node. Once there you will see a mission marker labeled as a haunted sector playlist, click on it and you will launch. Before starting the Haunted Sector, make sure you have your favorite mask.

How to complete the haunted sectors

Once you enter the spooky new haunted sectors, you will notice capture zones scattered throughout the play space. To advance the activity, position yourself in the capture zones to spawn the headless ones, a new mini-boss with a bright purple glowing pumpkin head. You will have to take out as many of the headless as possible within the allotted time, but once the time runs out, you will fight the main boss of the haunted sector.

The main boss has three damage stages, so you'll need to take your time with them. Once their immune shield is activated, more capture zones will be spawned, allowing you to spawn more headless. Once killed, the headless ones will drop a glowing orb, pick them up and throw them at the boss to drop their shield. It may need to be repeated a few times, but once the boss is dead, you've completed the haunted sector. When all is said and done, you can find your treats at the front of the room, but watch out for the tricks while there.
