How to get abandoned codes in Destiny 2 and what they do

With the launch of the 30th anniversary event within Destiny 2, players received a multitude of new and exciting things to play with. However, some of the novelties, such as Forsaken Ciphers, are a little less obvious to acquire. That said, getting Forsaken Ciphers and using them is actually a very easy process and a great way for Guardians to get some exotic weapons they may have already worked on.

How to get abandoned codes

How to get abandoned codes in Destiny 2 and what they do

Getting the abandoned codes is a pretty straightforward task as it only takes a short trip to the Tower. When you load into the tower courtyard, make your way to where you normally find the vaults and you should see a gold statue added to the vault wall. When you open the Monument of the Lost Lights, you will be greeted with three abandoned codes to claim and use. These codes can only be requested once, so if you don't see them check your inventory to see if you already have them. Please note that you must own the Destiny 2: Forsaken expansion in order to obtain the Forsaken Ciphers.

Where to use them and what to buy

Once you have your Abandoned Codes, you can use them at the Monument of Lost Lights in the Forsaken Exotic Collection. Here are all the exotics you can claim with your abandoned ciphers.

  • Ace of Spades
  • The last word
  • The monarch
  • Jotunn
  • Izanagi's burden
  • spina
  • The light
  • Truth
  • Bad Juju
  • Anarchy
  • taraba
  • Always on time (Sparrow)
  • Ascending Fragments (Material)

Of these exotics, there are a few that you should prioritize. We recommend that you collect Burden, Ace of Spades and Izanagi's Anarchy. If you already own all the Forsaken Exotics, you can use all the codes on Ascendant Shards.
