How to get the other half and the best God Rolls in Destiny 2

Bungie took the opportunity to add some Halo to Destiny with the 30th Anniversary Pack for the game, a DLC that celebrates the developer's legendary history. For all intents and purposes, The Other Half is the Destiny version of the Energy Sword, with the small difference of being split into two equally powerful blades.

The other half is an Adaptive Frame sword with an integrated medium upright attack. Guardians can obtain it from the chest next to Xur in the Treasure of Eternity or as a reward from Xur's strange engrams. The sword shares much of its DNA with its Half-Truths sibling weapon and earlier Adaptive Frame swords such as Negative Space.

The best benefits for the other half

  • Smooth edge / Jagged edge
  • Heavy Guard / Enduring Guard / Burst Guard
  • Eager Edge
  • Lama Turbinante (PvE) / Arma Vorpal (PvP)

Most Adaptive Frame swords in Destiny 2 maintain a similar collection of perks on the left side of the page, and The Other Half has an identical set to its counterpart. Honed Edge gives the sword a direct boost to the Impact stat for more damage, while Jagged Edge adds more damage but reduces the ammo you can carry for the sword at the same time.

Like half-truths, the other half is one of the first swords to roll with the new Eager Edge perk. Guardians gain extra lunge distance with the weapon immediately after switching to it for a short time, which is useful in combat and offers greater mobility via sword skating. Equipping the weapon in mid-air and swiftly swinging through a jump gives you extra range in flight, bringing back a classic Destiny movement strategy with a new Bungie seal of approval.

Crucible fans will likely want to keep an eye out for the Vorpal weapon in the final edge slot for The Other Half, which grants the sword greater killing potential against Guardians with their Super active in PvP. On the other hand, PvE fans will benefit most from Whirlwind Blade's extra damage on quick hits.

For an interesting alternative shot in PvE, Guardians can also try Duelist's Trance and Frenzy together. The Duelist's Trance upgrades the weapon with charge speed, efficiency, and defense bonuses while the sword is equipped, while Frenzy increases damage and handling during long combat sequences. Combined, both benefits incentivize you to keep the sword out for as long as possible and hit enemies.
