Pokemon Shining Diamond and Shining Pearl DLC Roadmap: Will there be a Platinum expansion?

Pokemon Shiny Diamond e Shining Pearl let players relive the iconic originals, all while bringing them to more modern standards. However, many users are wondering if the games will go further by releasing completely new downloadable content. Others are hoping for a Pokemon Platinum expansion that restores that game's missing content in these remakes. With all that in mind, here's the latest news on a Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Brilliant Pearl DLC roadmap.

All Pokemon Shining Pearl and Brilliant Diamond add-ons come in the form of pre-order bonuses. Since the games are faithful remakes of their Nintendo DS counterparts, it seems unlikely that any new original content will be released in the future.

Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Brilliant Pearl: Will they add platinum content?

Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl do not include Pokemon Platinum content as standard. Nintendo and The Pokemon Company may add a Platinum expansion in the future, but there have been no announcements at the moment.

Pokemon Platinum is a Generation IV entry that essentially compiles Diamond and Pearl, while also adding new content (likely making it the definitive version). There are visual, narrative, game and map changes - perhaps the biggest difference of all, however, is the greater number of Pokemon to catch and collect.

Obviously, Pokemon fans would like to see Pokemon Platinum's enhancements come to Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl in the form of downloadable content. Whether or not it will eventually appear on the Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl DLC roadmap remains to be seen.
